This website, alarmsny.com, is operated by AlarmsNY (“we,” “us”), based in Brooklyn, New York. We supply smoke, carbon monoxide and natural gas alarms to property managers, landlords and contractors.
This policy explains what information we collect when you visit our website or contact us by our quote form, email, WhatsApp or phone, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you request a quote, email, message us on WhatsApp or call, we may collect:
- Your name, company name, phone number and email address
- The type and number of alarms you need, the number of apartments, and building addresses
- Order, invoice, payment and delivery details
- Anything else you choose to include in your message
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you view and the time of your visit. Our website also loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google’s servers. We do not currently use advertising cookies or tracking tools on our website.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Answer your questions and prepare quotes
- Process orders, send invoices and collect payment
- Deliver alarms to your buildings
- Prepare compliance paperwork you request, such as notices and records sheets
- Send reminders when your alarms are nearing the end of their service life
- Keep business, tax and accounting records
- Protect our website and business, and meet our legal obligations
We may also send you occasional updates about our products. You can opt out at any time (see “Your choices”).
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run our business:
- Service providers that help us operate, such as our website host and form provider (Netlify), our email provider (Google Workspace), WhatsApp, delivery services, payment processors and our accountant
- Suppliers and manufacturers, only when needed to fill your order or handle a warranty claim
- Government authorities or others, when required by law or to protect our rights
- A buyer or successor, if our business is sold or reorganized
We share only what each one needs. These companies also handle information under their own privacy policies.
How long we keep it and how we protect it
We keep your information for as long as we need it to serve you, and for as long as the law requires us to keep business and tax records. Quote requests that do not lead to an order are deleted when we no longer need them.
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, such as password-protected accounts and limiting who can access it. No website or email system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a security incident affects your information, we will notify you as required by New York law.
Your choices
You can contact us at any time to:
- Ask what information we have about you
- Correct information that is wrong
- Ask us to delete your information, unless we must keep it for legal, tax or accounting reasons
- Stop receiving product updates or expiration reminders

Other details
Children. Our website and services are for businesses and property owners. They are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Links to other websites. Our website links to other sites, such as NYC government pages and manufacturer websites. We are not responsible for how those sites handle your information.
Changes to this policy. We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and change the effective date at the top.
